Cats seek depth at wide receiver position

Brett Dawson writes the Cats needing depth at the wide receiver position.  While the Cats are in great shape, they are one injury away from big problems.  Everyone expects Randall Cobb to be himself and Chris Matthews is poised for a monster season.  I continue to feel Matthews will be the key to the offense with his size and speed.  The Cats lost Gene McCaskill to injury which made LaRod King No 3 on the depth chart.  King has missed valuable reps this fall due to a stinger injury.  While Brian Adams had received a lot of attention due to his speed, he is still very raw.  It appears E.J. Fields or Aaron Boyd will have to step up and make plays.  Fields has shown flashes of his ability, but has yet to play in a game.  Aaron Boyd has game experience and could be the sleeper of the unit.  Matt Roark and Michael Harper could see action, but they appear to be buried on the depth chart.  One thing is for sure, the Cats can’t afford to lose anymore receives to an injury.
