Since Joker Phillips has been on campus there have been a number of so-called “pipelines” through high school programs in the South, particularly in the state of Georgia. Kentucky has reaped the benefits adding multiple kids from multiple classes from schools like Central (KY), LaGrange (GA), and Stephenson (GA). The list below is comprised of players that were signed by and currently are at Kentucky in the 2010, 2011, or 2012 classes, and the school they came from. These schools currently have 2013 seniors that Kentucky is actively recruiting to be apart of the team in the Fall of 2014.
Christian County, KY
-2010 Signee: Malcolm McDuffen (LB)
-2013 Prospect: Bubba Tandy (ATH)
Bubba Tandy was a 2011 signee that had to go the JUCO route. He has informed BBK that he will re-sign with Kentucky in December and join the team in early January.
Gadsden City, AL
-2011 Signee: Daryl Collins (WR)
-2013 Prospect: B.J. Hammond (WR)
B.J. Hammond is a tall, athletic receiver that is listed at 6’4″ 205 lbs. His only offer at the moment is from Mississippi State, but the Cats have been in contact with him. He will need to get to campus for the staff to evaluate him.
Godby, FL
-2012 Signee: Kadeem Thomas (LB)
-2013 Prospect: Khalid Thomas (ATH)
Kadeem Thomas’ younger brother, Khalid, is the target of Joker’s staff in the 2013 class. Khalid already has offers from some big-time programs such as Miami, Notre Dame, and Ohio State. One thing that may play into the Cats hands is the family’s desire for Kadeem and Khalid to attend the same school.
Grady, GA
-2011 Signee: Marcus Caffey (DB)
-2013 Prospect: Darren Dowdell (DE)
Darren Dowdell is a defensive end that is about to blow up. He was named a sleeper at the Rivals Camp in Georgia recently. He has offers from Louisville and Georgia Tech so far.
Myrtle Beach, SC
-2012 Signee: T.J. Jones (OL)
-2013 Prospect: “Chocolate” Wilson (DB)
“Chocolate” Wilson’s recruitment is starting to heat up despite his lack of size. His a speedster that could transition into a quality Nickel defensive back at the college level. Expect Wilson to attend UK’s camp in the summer and potentially land an offer. Keep an eye out on Wilson’s recruitment.
Stephenson, GA
-2012 Signee(s): DeMarcus Sweat (WR) and Shawn Blaylock (DB)
-2013 Prospect: Edmend Banks (DT)
Edmend Banks is a very large athlete as he is already listed at 6’6″ 290 lbs. He has the frame to be a big-time player on the interior of the defensive line. Kentucky has not offered him yet, but will attempt to get him on campus for camp to evaluate him further (remember DeMarcus Sweat’s recruitment last summer). His recruitment could really, really blow up.
Walton, GA
-2012 Signee(s): Daron Blaylock (LB) and Zack Blaylock (DB)
-2013 Prospect: Parker McLeod (QB)
Parker McLeod has yet to be offered by Kentucky, but they are evaluating him like all the quarterbacks in this class. He is a candidate to attend UK’s camp this summer where he could land an offer. He has already been offered by Louisville and Missouri.

Wilson from Myrtle Beach would be a good fit to slide into our young defensive backfield at nickel until he develops. In a couple years it seems we could have a talented secondary once the youngsters gain some experience in Sec play.
